  • Arsenal failed to sign a new centre-forward on transfer deadline day, despite ongoing fears over the fitness of Danny Welbeck.
    The £10million capture of Petr Cech was Arsene Wenger's only significant summer signing.
    It means the Gunners are the only club from Europe's top five leagues to have not signed an outfield player this summer.

    But bruising to the bone has meant his return to fitness has been delayed in recent weeks.
