Wayne Rooney admits Manchester United would not be happy if he sparred again after boxing video was leaked last season

• The footage showed Rooney being knocked to the floor in his living room
• The Manchester United striker boxed as an amateur when he was younger
• But he believes the club would frown upon him lacing up the gloves again  

 has admitted Manchester United would take a dim view if their captain was to lace up his boxing gloves again.

Footage emerged last season of England's record goalscorer sparring with former team-mate Phil Bardsley at his house.

The striker denied he had been knocked out and responded to criticism with a punch-perfect celebration when he scored United's third goal against Tottenham on the same day the video was released.
